Human Existence & Individual Dissonance_
“A man who has become conscious of the absurd is forever bound to it”
- Camus.
The Absurdist is an art collective lead by Manuelita Antonio and Johannes Seemann. The collective was founded in late 2014 driven by the need to find an outlet for philosophical inquiries of existential, absurd and situational nature.
Inspired by the musings and theories of Albert Camus, Asger Jorn, David Hume and Baruch Spinoza between others, the Absurdist set out to create conceptual art installations that address existential needs in experiential ways.
Over the years, several artists, muses, philosophers and other collaborators have joined the Absurdist in its pursue of creating artifacts and situations that reconcile their empirical observations in a world of ready-made belief systems.
The collective is an open, ever-changing evolving organism, a life-long journey of inquire and discovery.
